If a home is starting to look dull, it may be time to do some redecorating. It’s easy to breathe new life into a home by trying out new decor styles. The following home decor styles will have anyone in the mood to start decorating their home.

During this time period, decor took a simple approach, focusing on a clutter free look that emphasizes that less is more. Natural looking geometric shapes are often present, along with white walls and wood panels. Mid-Century Modern has its strength in versatility, allowing it to use common materials like plywood, polished metal, and plastic to pull of a stylish look. It bucks the idea of looking traditional, while still having a creative design on its own.

Industrial home decor takes it name from the industrial era of history. This style takes cold metal and combines it with wood and brick to give birth to artificial life. Brick walls with heavy exposure play off the metal accents of copper and steel, while the wood works with it for a look that screams rustic. Homes constructed from manufacturing areas often have these styles and they’re quite popular. It’s easy to transform something like a cart into an industrial furniture piece with just a little glass.

Nautical decor, which can also be called cottage or coastal decor, depending on who you ask, is a more relaxing kind of home decor. The key theme of Nautical decor is to create an environment that evokes warmth and positive energy to those in the area. This is crated by using light colors like blue and white. Furniture items like chairs often have unfinished wood with this decor, and sensibly stylish linens are used on cushions and sofas. Sea based objects like seashells, navigational maps, and small boats work well as cute decorative accents that will induce conversation for anyone who sees them.

Mid-century modern gave birth to a different kind of home decor, called the Scandinavian design. This decor is still going strong today because of how it brought in the minimalist design to architecture. This decor is commonly associated with the furniture and home store IKEA, but the styles found there are only a small section of the decor. The decor has a perfect balance between the organic and the engineered while staying simple in looks. The contours are kept gentle, and accent colors play well off each other, with white and gray being the foundation for the look.

The Bohemian decor style works well for those who like the idea of having adventure in their life, focusing on an avant-garde flair. The key to this style is to have colors like red or purple that are vibrant and stand out. Patterns are kept rich, and the look can often be called messy, but only because it is done on purpose. Adding textile pillows and rugs make rooms with this decor have a warm feeling. Items should have ethnic tones to them, taking cues from Moroccan regions, and metal accents along with wood and hide.

Multiple home decor styles can be tried, as long as they can mesh together. Any one of these will work well, and they can be changed whenever the home owner desires.
